Alliance BJJ Team Snow Continues to Catch Fire

Taking home 6 medals last weekend, our 5 Alliance BJJ competitors continue to surprise themselves, performing at the highest levels of the competitive sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Much more than competitors, these guys and gals are martial artists who sacrifice daily and practice their art with the utmost passion. Competition is a big aspect of this consistent and persistent practice of the art, as it provides a wealth of motivation and sense of urgency in the weeks of preparation leading up to a big event.

-March 6, 2016-

Four of our Alliance BJJ athletes competed in the 2016 Houston Open IBJJF Championships, taking 2 golds and 2 silvers. Gaby took gold, Kade took silver, Shannon took silver, and Toro took gold. Snow ventured up to Montreal to visit his brother Jesse, and to compete in the 2016 Canada National UAEJJ Pro Trials. He took gold in his weight category at black belt, winning all matches. In the open weight, he won all matches except for one, losing by advantage with a score of 0-0 to the winner of the open weight division. The winner had an excellent strategy, having a bye at his weight category and choosing to give his next match to his teammate, therefore staying fresh for the open weight division. He also had a bye in the open weight division before facing Snow, who had already fought 2 tough matches prior.

The team continues to aim high, and will not settle for anything less than the top of the podium, where the Alliance Eagle deserves to fly. We carry the flag with pride, and our team’s standard of excellence provides a constant flow of positive motivational energy that carries us forward toward the IBJJF World Championships in June.
